Breaking: Fancy Fonts Still Not Booking Clients

Oct 02, 2025

Right. Let me guess.

You’re waiting for “the perfect moment” to put yourself out there.

Maybe when your logo looks less like a potato. Or after the contact form on your website is a little less “emotionally closed off”. Or when Mercury gets the flip out of retrograde.

I get it. Truly. I once spent three days deciding between two shades of green.

But let’s clear something up: Your next client? Doesn’t give a flying font about your colour palette.

What they do care about? That you’re a living, breathing human who helps other humans. Not that you’ve got Helvetica Neue whispering sweet nothings from your business card.

You do not need:

  • A printed leaflet to talk to someone in the Co-op queue.
  • A professionally-lit headshot to WhatsApp someone you met at yoga.
  • A flawless website to just start helping people.

You don’t even need confidence. (I know. Shocking.) You just need to start. Messy. Awkward. Weird-hair-day energy and all.

Because perfectionism? That’s just fear in a top hat pretending to be important.

So. Be brave. Be human. Be mildly unhinged if that’s your vibe. But show up.

Your future clients are out there, right now, thinking: “I wish someone would just help me feel better.” Not: “If only the footer layout was a little more sophisticated.”

Not sure where to start? Try this: One human interaction this week. A quick email. A friendly comment. A cup of tea with Sandra who knows Paula who once had Reiki.

That’s marketing. Just without the jazz hands.
