Sole Trader Courses (“we”, “our”, “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you visit our website, enrol in our courses, or interact with us in other ways.
We are registered and operate in the United Kingdom, and we comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Information We Collect
We may collect and process Identity Data (name, username, profile picture if provided), Contact Data (email address, phone number, postal address), Financial Data (payment details processed via Stripe), Transaction Data (details of payments to and from you, and course enrolments you make), Technical Data (IP address, login data, browser type, operating system, and usage data via Kajabi, cookies, Google Analytics, and Meta Pixel if enabled), Profile Data (enrolments, progress, feedback, survey responses, community interactions), and Marketing & Communications Data (preferences for receiving marketing, for example our “business tips” emails).
How We Collect Your Data
We collect your data through Kajabi forms, checkouts, and community features; Stripe when you make payments; Kajabi email and course communications; and cookies and similar technologies (see Cookies Policy below).
We also collect publicly available business email addresses through manual online research, for business outreach. (See 'Legitimate Interest for Business Outreach' below.)
The Solo Practitioner Scorecard
When you complete our Solo Practitioner Scorecard, we collect your responses in order to generate a personalised report showing how your business is performing.
If you choose to opt in, we will also send you weekly business tips by email, designed to support you in building a successful practice.
We do not sell or share your Scorecard data with third parties. Your information will only be used to deliver your Scorecard results and optional weekly tips; understand the needs of solo practitioners and improve our resources; and offer you relevant tools, services, or training that may support your business growth.
You can unsubscribe from emails at any time. For full details on how we handle your personal data, please see the rest of this Privacy Policy.
How We Use Your Data
We use your information to provide access to our courses, coaching, and community; process payments securely; communicate with you (course updates, customer support, marketing emails if you opt in); improve our website and services using analytics; comply with legal and regulatory requirements; and for business outreach (see 'Legitimate Interest for Business Outreach' below).
Legal Basis for Processing
Under the UK GDPR, we rely on the following lawful bases: Contract (to provide our courses and services), Consent (when you opt in to marketing emails or accept cookies), Legal Obligation (to comply with accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements), and Legitimate Interests (to improve services, manage our business, and ensure secure operations).
Legitimate Interest for Business Outreach
We may process limited business contact details (such as publicly available email addresses or information shared with us directly) on the basis of our legitimate interests.
This includes contacting individual practitioners, professional bodies, clinics and studios that rent space to practitioners, training providers, and other organisations that support practitioners.
The purpose of this outreach is to provide free resources, information, and opportunities that may reasonably be of interest to those working in the health and wellness field.
We balance our legitimate interest with your rights by ensuring that outreach is targeted and relevant to your professional role or organisation; messages are designed to offer free value (e.g., practical resources, tips, or invitations to no-cost events), not unwanted sales spam; and you can easily opt out of receiving further communications at any time by unsubscribing, following the instructions in our emails or contacting us directly.
If you object to such processing, we will respect your rights under the UK GDPR and cease contacting you.
Sharing Your Information
We only share your data with trusted third parties that enable us to provide our services. These include Kajabi (website, checkout, course delivery, and email system); Stripe (payment processing); and analytics and marketing tools such as Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or similar (if enabled, to improve our marketing and services). We never sell your data to third parties.
Cookies Policy
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to make the website function properly, improve your user experience, analyse traffic and site performance, and deliver personalised marketing (if you consent). On your first visit, you will see a cookie consent banner. You can accept, reject, or customise your preferences at any time.
Data Retention
We keep your personal data for as long as necessary to provide services, maintain records, and comply with legal obligations. If you have opted into emails (e.g., “business tips” emails), we retain your details to allow reactivation until you withdraw consent.
Your Rights Under GDPR
As a UK data subject, you have the right to Access (request a copy of the personal data we hold about you), Rectification (correct inaccurate or incomplete data), Erasure (request deletion of your personal data / “right to be forgotten”); Restriction (ask us to limit processing of your data); Portability (request transfer of your data to another provider); Objection (object to processing based on legitimate interests or marketing); Withdraw Consent (at any time, where we rely on consent). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at https://ico.org.uk.
Data Security
We use secure systems (Kajabi and Stripe) and appropriate technical measures to protect your data from loss, misuse, or unauthorised access.
